Modern Cave Tour in World Karst Museum
What do you Think when hear the name Wonogiri? Maybe bakso, jamu, tiwul, and mete. But have you ever heard that the Lasgest Karst Museum’s and most unique karst in Southeast Asia is also on this Regency, located in the Gebangharjo village, Pracimantoro District, or about 3 minutes from the Central District of Pracimantoro, the location is easily accessible from Wonogiri, Wonosari and Baturetno, or 2 hour from Solo downtown.
The museum was built by the central government’s Center for Environmental Geology, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) in cooperation with Central Java Bakorwil II, Head of Geology and Mineral Resources Ministry of Local Government Wonogiri, to spend around Rp.36 billion, the museum is able to describe the overall condition of the ground water geology. Purpose built museum is for educational, tourism and economy purposes.
Although from the outside the building looks modern and magnificent architecture, do not be surprised if in a museum in Goa atmosphere will be felt, because the visitors are also directly addressed with artificial stalactites and stalagmites are intentionally made to give the feel of a typical karst mountains.
Oh yea don’t forget to visit the cave around the museum, there Goa Tembus, Goa Sodong, and many more caves around here.
