Solo Batik Carnival Successful Spice Up Solo

Finally, Solo Batik Carnival (SBC) was successfully held on 30th June 2012. Solo, as, one of the batik production centers and as the Capital of Batik, thought out the need to organize Solo Solo Batik Carnival as an annual event involving the community and batik artists to show their creativity and innovation.

Performance of a pair of teenagers dressed in all-red conveys some information about this event. In a while after the lights dimmed, Java song started to play. Spectators are invited to focus on the 2 big screen to see the process of metamorphosis from white cloth into a piece of batik.

This event was organized by the Solo Batik Carnival Foundation with cooperation with Surakarta city government. In this year, this event is somewhat different from previous years because people can watch for free on the sidewalk of Jalan Slamet Riyadi yet can watch the show in indoor venue at Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, by paying Rp. 25,000 to Rp. 250,000.

SBC itself consists of a variety of supporting events, such as: Batik Exhibition & Exploration which held from 08.00 am to 20.00 pm, performance at the Indoor Stadium Sriwedari, and subsequently Fashion Street Carnival starting from Sriwedari stadium to Solo City Hall.

The Stadium looks fulled by spectators, in indoor venue started by performance of a pair of teenagers dressed in all-red conveys some information about this event. Based on reporting from indonesia.travel, at 9 PM the Fashion Carnival on Street was launched, marked with a prod by the SBC Foundation Chairman Agus Totok Srihanto, representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Savitri Poppy from ministry of tourism and creative economy to open the event of the procession followed by a group of teenagers dressed Kraton Surakarta soldiers. Crowded spectators stepped forward to have a closer look at the convoy. One or two people seem to pose with carnival participants walking and smiling to the audience.

Each group of participant was described by the clothes worn; Meta series is presented in each group. Group I has basic design of round shapes, conical was in Group II, Group III of the draft terms of many shapes and Group IV was a group of children with the basic forms of flora and fauna. The procession was attended by Puteri Indonesia 2011 Selena Maria, daughter of Ambassador of the Environment 2011 Liza Elly, and Miss Tourism Ambassador 2011 Andi Natassa.

Until 10 PM, the carnival was still crowded by audiences full of nostalgia as if he was off to see the grandeur and excitement of this Solo Batik Carnival. Not only the citizens of the city of Solo, but also the people from out of town come in and meet in the town. In addition, the event was also covered the media participated in this annual event.
