July 15 to 17, Festival Phinisi in Bulukumba

Phinisi Festival is a festival that was held for the celebration of the ship Phinisi or well-known as Bugis Pinisi Sailing. The festival will be held on July 15 to 17, 2012 in Phinisi shipbuilding in Bira, Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, the south of Makassar city.

Phinisi sailboat is a magnificent sailing ship that was found in the crowded waters of Indonesia for trade and distribution activities to some small ports.

Although the governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, could not attend, Festival that will be held by Bulukumba government will be remembered as  memory of historic ships lunge for the people of Makassar in particular and Indonesia in general. Phinisi sailboat is a magnificent sailing ship that was found in the crowded waters of Indonesia for trade and distribution activities to some small ports. Phinisi also often used as transportation by divers to dive in the dive spots in Indonesia, including Bali, Wakatobi, Komodo, Raja Ampat until Bunaken.

The festival is also used as tool for promotion and dissemination of the prospects and potential of culture and tourism in the Bulukumba Regency.
