Sofyani Dance Represents Indonesia at the Festival of Montoire France

Festival of Montoire France is a prestigious arts and cultural festival in France, which will take place on July 26 to August 20, 2012. In this 40th  festival, Indonesia will be represented by Sofyani Dance, a dance group and music from Bukittinggi, West Sumatra.

West Sumatra has a unique dance movement, we have a basic martial arts movements and use of traditional musical instruments, no technology, that’s the attraction itself.

As reported by metrotvnews, the group consists of 21 people, comprised of dancers, musicians, and singers, and performers who are ready to perform with professional traditions from around the world, such as the Group Dancers, Music Artists, Choreographers, Art Observers, and Director of the World Arts Buildings. The support also comes from the provincial government of West Sumatra. West Sumatera government has provided support to help raise funds for the arts to the team’s departure.
